Qing

Qing is responsible and loyal, although he is considerably more cautious than the fearless warriors around him. He can become visibly alarmed when confronted with overwhelming enemy numbers or particularly dangerous situations, giving him a grounded infantryman's perspective on battles dominated by extraordinary generals.

Fear does not prevent him from fighting. Qing repeatedly remains with his comrades through campaigns in which the Hi Shin Unit suffers heavy casualties, demonstrating courage through persistence rather than bravado.

He also shares the easy familiarity of the Jyouto villagers. Around Bi Hei and Kou, he frequently reacts to jokes, complaints and boasts in a way that reflects their long history together.

Qing is an experienced spear-wielding infantryman. He does not possess the exceptional strength of the Hi Shin Unit's heavy fighters, but years of campaigning have made him capable of surviving and contributing in close formation combat.

His greatest asset is experience. Qing has fought soldiers from multiple states and has participated in sieges, open-field battles and difficult retreats. He understands how ordinary infantrymen survive circumstances in which a single mistake can be fatal.

He commonly operates close to Bi Hei and other veteran infantry, providing reliable support rather than functioning as an independent duelist.

Qing enters the military narrative as one of the Jyouto villagers drafted during Zhao's invasion of Qin. He joins the newly formed Hi Shin Unit and becomes one of its earliest regular soldiers.

His presence connects Xin's military career to his childhood. Unlike many recruits who know Xin only as an accomplished commander, Qing remembers him as the orphaned servant boy who trained obsessively with Piao.

Qing survives successive campaigns and remains with the Hi Shin Unit as it develops from a 100-man detachment into the much larger army commanded by Xin.

Xin is Qing's childhood acquaintance and later military commander. They grew up in the same village before Xin's rise through Qin's army.

Piao was another childhood acquaintance from Jyouto Village.

Bi Hei is one of Qing's closest fellow villagers and battlefield companions, with Qing frequently serving alongside him.

Bi Tou was another member of their Jyouto circle and an early Hi Shin Unit soldier.

Kou grew up alongside Qing and the other Jyouto villagers and later serves with him in the Hi Shin Unit.
