Otis

Otis is enigmatic, theatrical and strongly invested in restoring excitement to Dueling. Rather than simply explaining his philosophy, he prefers to test people through Duels and cryptic challenges.

He encourages Yuga to create his own path instead of accepting the rigid system established by Goha Corporation. Even when appearing as an opponent, Otis often frames his actions in ways that push Yuga toward experimentation and greater determination.

His behavior becomes increasingly difficult to interpret as the story progresses. Otis alternates between mentor-like guidance and deliberate provocation, leaving the children uncertain about how much of his apparent support they should trust.

Otis is an experienced engineer with intimate knowledge of Goha Corporation's Dueling technology. His work in the Development Department connects him to the company's systems and to the creation of the Sevens Road cards.

As a duelist, he deliberately uses famous monsters associated with traditional Duel Monsters. His first Rush Duel features Blue-Eyes White Dragon, whose status as a Legend Card limits it to a single copy under Rush Duel rules.

Otis later demonstrates several different Deck configurations built around classic monsters, including Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Summoned Skull. His familiarity with both old Dueling and Rush Duel rules makes him an effective test for Yuga's evolving strategies.

Otis first appears through the Hologram Man projection encountered by Yuga at the mysterious relic. When Yuga modifies the Duel system and successfully completes the challenge, Rush Duel rules are installed across Goha's network.

His connection to Yuga predates that meeting. Otis had previously encountered him during a Goha Dueling Tournament and gave him Sevens Road Magician, helping set the young inventor on the path he later follows.

Otis periodically returns to challenge or guide Yuga as Rush Duels spread. He eventually emerges as the central opponent in the struggle over the future of Dueling, attempting to dismantle the existing Duel systems and forcing Yuga into a final confrontation in space.

Yuga defeats him in their final Rush Duel, but Otis's identity beneath his mask remains unresolved within SEVENS itself.

Yuga Ohdo is the duelist Otis chooses to push toward becoming King of Duels. Otis gives Yuga Ohdo Sevens Road Magician and repeatedly tests whether he can continue creating his own road.

Lucidien "Luke" Kallister also encounters Otis during the competition over who deserves to become King of Duels.

Roa Kirishima witnesses Otis choose Yuga Ohdo rather than himself, an event that contributes to Roa Kirishima's determination to claim the title of King of Duels.
