Personality
Personality
Ordo is boisterous, proud and highly confident in his experience of mountain warfare. He speaks openly about his accomplishments and expects terrain that troubles ordinary generals to favor him.
Despite his swagger, he is capable of recognizing danger and altering his plans when circumstances deteriorate. His confidence is substantial, but he does not possess the suicidal fixation on personal pride displayed by some commanders.
Ordo also maintains strong ties with the mountain tribes beneath his authority. His ability to gather warriors from culturally distinct groups is a major part of his military identity.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Ordo specializes in warfare across mountains and other difficult terrain. Having grown up among mountain peoples, he understands routes, slopes and natural obstacles that conventional armies may consider impassable.
His army incorporates numerous mountain tribes with specialized skills. This gives him access to soldiers capable of climbing and maneuvering through terrain where standard infantry formations lose much of their effectiveness.
Ordo also commands large conventional armies and possesses substantial personal martial strength. His greatest advantage, however, comes from combining a state army with tribal forces accustomed to irregular environments.
Story Role
Story Role
Ordo serves as Yan's representative among the great commanders assembled for the Coalition invasion of Qin. His army attacks Kankoku Pass from the mountainous sector defended by Jian Wang.
Ordo initially believes the terrain strongly favors him. Jian Wang deliberately allows the Yan army to advance before trapping a large portion of Ordo's elite mountain soldiers within a carefully prepared formation. Jian Wang then leaves the battlefield, correctly calculating that Ordo will remain immobilized rather than risk further losses.
Ordo later attempts to exploit Qin's invasion of Zhao by attacking Zhao's eastern territory. His advance toward Seika is stopped when Si Ma Shang leads a much smaller force against him, while Zhao's countermeasures threaten Ordo's route home and compel him to withdraw.
He nevertheless remains an important Yan commander and continues looking for opportunities to expand his state's position while Qin and Zhao exhaust one another.
