Nakata receives little independent characterization and generally behaves as part of the MK5 collective.

He shares the group's misplaced confidence, eagerly participating in plans despite extensive evidence that the MK5 is badly outmatched by Ishiyama's prominent fighters.

Nakata is also capable of being quickly impressed by demonstrations of strength, contributing to the gang's tendency to idolize anyone who defeats them spectacularly.

Nakata carries a rifle, distinguishing his equipment from that of the other MK5 members.

The series does not establish a specialized shooting technique or suggest that his weapon makes him competitive with Ishiyama's elite fighters.

Like the rest of the MK5, his combat role is usually played for comedy, with elaborate preparations ending in rapid defeat.

Nakata appears alongside the MK5 during the gang's early schemes at Ishiyama and remains part of the group through later school arcs.

He participates in the MK5's attempts to develop new techniques and gain recognition from stronger delinquents.

After Furuichi unexpectedly defeats the MK5 and Shimokawa, Nakata joins the others in begging him for training. When Ishiyama is eventually rebuilt, the MK5 returns only to be defeated and embedded in the concrete wall surrounding the campus.

Ikari is the leader of Nakata's MK5 gang.

Shimamura, Chato and Buu are Nakata's fellow members.

Miwa temporarily commands the group during an early scheme against Aoi.

Takayuki Furuichi becomes Nakata's supposed "master" after defeating the MK5.

Good Night Shimokawa later associates himself with the group.
