Mother's personality remains deliberately mysterious for much of the story. She possesses awareness of those who reach her and appears capable of communicating directly with visitors.

Her reputation inspires awe across the cosmos. Rather than belonging to a particular government, species or civilization, she occupies an almost religious position in the universe's mythology.

Mother's interactions with Xiaomei demonstrate that she is capable of listening to an individual's wish and deliberately choosing how to fulfill it.

Mother possesses the ability to grant wishes to people who successfully reach her. The scale of those wishes can be extraordinary, with her power capable of fundamentally altering an individual's existence.

She is also associated with rebirth. The widespread saying that those who meet Mother are "born again" reflects an actual property of her power rather than merely religious language.

Mother can grant supernatural abilities as part of a wish. Xiaomei's extraordinary knowledge is connected to a wish Mother grants her, although that gift comes with limitations.

Mother's true nature is eventually revealed to be the Overdrive state of Earth itself. Her existence is tied to the planet's Ether and to the fate of humanity twenty thousand years before the main era.

Mother provides the central destination of Shiki's journey from the beginning of the series. After learning that Ziggy once searched for her, Shiki decides to travel beyond the Sakura Cosmos and find her himself.

The journey requires the Edens Zero to cross Dragonfall and travel through multiple cosmoses, turning the search for Mother into the thread connecting many otherwise separate adventures.

The final conflict reveals that Mother's life is failing and that her survival is directly tied to Earth's history. Shiki ultimately faces a choice involving Mother's continued existence and the lives connected to the universe's past, with Universe 0 providing the route toward resolving that crisis.

Shiki Granbell makes finding Mother the central goal of his voyage aboard the Edens Zero.

Ziggy previously travels in search of Mother with the Four Shining Stars.

Xiaomei successfully reaches Mother and receives a wish from her, gaining extraordinary knowledge at the cost of being unable to know the outcomes of battles.

Rebecca Bluegarden accompanies Shiki on his search and is eventually connected to the ancient events surrounding Earth and Mother's creation.
