Mirai Tsukumo

Mirai is adventurous, courageous and willing to accompany Kazuma into dangerous environments. She shares enough of his enthusiasm for exploration to make their expeditions a partnership rather than simply following his ambitions.

She is also devoted to her family. Although her travels keep her away from Yuma and Akari for much of the story, memories of the family show a close relationship before the expeditions separated them.

Mirai is generally more grounded than Kazuma's exuberant personality, but she does not attempt to suppress his desire to explore the unknown.

Mirai is an experienced adventurer capable of accompanying Kazuma through remote ruins and dangerous expeditions. Her skills allow her to endure environments far removed from ordinary life in Heartland City.

She is not established as a major competitive duelist. Her importance lies instead in her participation in the explorations that connect the Tsukumo family to dimensional phenomena.

Mirai's travels with Kazuma expose her to mysteries surrounding ancient ruins and other worlds long before Yuma becomes directly involved with Astral.

Mirai is introduced through Yuma's family background and memories of his parents. She and Kazuma left their children in Haru's care while pursuing archaeological and exploratory work.

Their final major expedition before the beginning of Yuma's story leads them into ruins connected to dimensional phenomena. The consequences explain why neither parent simply returned home.

Mirai and Kazuma become trapped in another dimension during their expedition. Their disappearance is therefore connected to the same broader network of other worlds that later becomes central to Yuma and Astral's journey.

Both parents continue watching over Yuma from beyond the ordinary world and provide guidance as his own adventure approaches the dimensional mysteries they encountered.

Kazuma Tsukumo is Mirai's husband and exploration partner. She accompanies Kazuma Tsukumo on dangerous expeditions rather than remaining behind while he travels.

Yuma Tsukumo is Mirai's son. Although separated from him for much of the story, Mirai remains deeply concerned with Yuma Tsukumo's growth and safety.

Akari Tsukumo is Mirai's daughter and Yuma's older sister.

Haru Tsukumo is Mirai's mother-in-law and cares for Yuma and Akari while their parents are away.
