Ming Han

Ming Han is extraordinarily proud. Years without defeat have convinced him that he stands above ordinary warriors, and he considers crushing people who mistakenly believe themselves strong to be his duty.

Unlike generals who claim to seek worthy rivals, Ming Han insists that battle has become boring because nobody can equal him. His elaborate battlefield presentation reflects this self-image: soldiers beat enormous drums and proclaim their commander's achievements as he advances.

His arrogance does not mean he lacks military responsibility. Ming Han identifies strongly with Chu's status as a superstate and sees his personal strength as an embodiment of the country's power.

Ming Han possesses monstrous physical strength. His preferred weapon against worthy opponents is a massive war mace, although he is also an accomplished swordsman.

Earlier in his career, he confronted Wang He, the member of Qin's original Six Great Generals reputed to possess the greatest brute strength. Ming Han's victory in that encounter becomes a central pillar of his confidence.

He is also an experienced Great General rather than merely a duelist. His army has campaigned across China, capturing close to a hundred cities, and he can read and respond to conventional battlefield formations.

His elite cavalry provides additional offensive power, while his own presence creates enormous morale among Chu's soldiers.

Ming Han enters the main story as one of Chu's greatest commanders participating in the Coalition invasion. He commands the central Chu army while Lin Wa controls another enormous force.

His principal Qin opponent is Meng Wu. Chang Ping Jun deliberately places Meng Wu against Ming Han because the confrontation between the two armies is expected to become one of the decisive battles of the coalition campaign.

Meng Wu uses an echelon attack to manipulate Ming Han's deployment and force a route toward his headquarters. The maneuver eventually brings the two commanders face to face.

Their duel becomes a contest between two of China's strongest warriors. Ming Han initially inflicts tremendous damage, but Meng Wu continues fighting and eventually shatters Ming Han's arm. After Tian Meng is wounded while preventing Ka En from interfering, Meng Wu overwhelms Ming Han and kills him with his mace.

Meng Wu is Ming Han's principal opponent during the Coalition invasion. Their duel determines the outcome of the central Chu battlefield.

Lin Wa commands another major Chu army during the same campaign and recognizes the strategic consequences of Ming Han's confrontation with Meng Wu.

Ka En attempts to intervene when the duel turns against Ming Han.

Tian Meng intercepts Ka En's attempt to attack Meng Wu and becomes caught in Ming Han's battle.

Wang He fought Ming Han years before the Coalition invasion. Ming Han's success against the famed Qin Great General becomes one of the achievements underpinning his reputation.

Kou En was the great Chu commander under whom the younger Ming Han served during part of his early career.
