Her presence alongside other experienced female players emphasizes that the tryout environment is considerably different from Aoba's everyday experience at Seishuu.

Megumi is a skilled baseball player representing Ryuou Academy's women's program. She is good enough to enter the All-Japan women's team selection process and survive the opening stage of the tryouts.

During the first round, she is matched as a batter against Aoba, placing her directly against the Seishuu pitcher's most important skill.

Megumi passes the first stage of selection but is eliminated during the second round.

Megumi appears during the anime's women's national-team tryout storyline. The event gives Aoba a rare opportunity to compete in an environment where her gender does not prevent her from pursuing an official baseball place.
