Mani

Mani is caring, protective and more cautious than Aigami. Even as a child, he tries to comfort the other orphans during their mistreatment and helps keep their spirits up despite their circumstances.

His concern for Aigami remains a defining trait as they grow older. Rather than simply accepting his friend's decisions, Mani follows him in order to watch over him.

Mani also demonstrates enough strength of will to resist hostile supernatural influence, if only temporarily. His loyalty to his companions persists even when circumstances place him in direct danger.

As one of the Plana, Mani possesses the dimensional abilities bestowed upon the children under Shadi's guidance. Members of the group can transcend ordinary space, transport themselves and others between dimensions, and communicate within their unusual collective existence.

These abilities are associated with the Quantum Cube and the higher-dimensional world that Shadi teaches the children they may eventually reach.

Mani is not shown participating in a conventional Duel and does not have an established Deck. His abilities instead belong to the supernatural side of The Dark Side of Dimensions.

Mani's history begins among a group of exploited orphans living under an abusive man. Shadi rescues the children, grants them the powers of the Plana and becomes their mentor, teaching them about the Millennium Items and the possibility of reaching another dimension.

After Dark Bakura kills Shadi, Mani remains with Aigami and Sera among the surviving Plana. When Aigami later leaves their sanctuary, Mani follows to watch over him.

During The Dark Side of Dimensions, Mani accompanies the Plana's activities surrounding the Shrine of the Underworld. He discovers the Millennium Ring and falls under its corrupting influence. Mani briefly resists that influence while protecting Aigami, but the Ring ultimately destroys him. He is restored after the final conflict.

Aigami is one of Mani's closest companions. Mani repeatedly watches over Aigami and follows him when he leaves the other Plana.

Sera grows up alongside Mani as another member of the same group of children. Mani shares a familial bond with both Sera and her brother.

Shadi Shin rescues Mani and the other abused children before becoming their mentor. [The loss of Shadi Shin profoundly affects the surviving Plana and shapes their later actions.](#spoiler)

Ryo Bakura becomes connected to Mani through the Millennium Ring. Its evil influences Mani and drives him toward violence before he temporarily regains control.
