Mahiru Naruhaya

Mahiru is caring, responsible and practical. As the oldest sibling in a financially struggling household, she takes on responsibilities that would normally belong to a parent and looks after the younger Naruhaya children.

Her support for Asahi is important because she understands what professional football could mean for him and for the family. She does not treat his dream as a frivolous escape even though their immediate circumstances require everyone to contribute.

Mahiru's limited appearances focus primarily on her relationship with her siblings, so the series does not establish an extensive life outside the Naruhaya household.

Mahiru is not a Blue Lock participant or competitive footballer, and the series does not establish footballing abilities for her.

Her role instead centers on the Naruhaya family's everyday survival. She works to support the household and helps care for five younger siblings, giving Asahi the opportunity to continue pursuing football despite the family's difficult circumstances.

Mahiru appears as part of Asahi's family background during the Second Selection. The Naruhaya household explains why Asahi approaches his elimination match with such urgency: professional football represents a potential route out of poverty for his entire family.

The Naruhaya children's parents died in an accident, leaving Mahiru and Asahi with significant responsibility for their younger siblings. Mahiru takes part-time work while Asahi pursues football, and he hopes that becoming a professional can eventually allow him to support all of them.
