Personality
Personality
Ma Nan Ci is aggressive and confident, taking visible pleasure in difficult battles. His years on Zhao's northern frontier have left him accustomed to extreme combat and unusually resilient when fighting powerful opponents.
He is also deeply loyal to Li Mu. Unlike retainers motivated mainly by court politics, Ma Nan Ci's connection to his commander comes from years of shared warfare in Ganmon.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Ma Nan Ci possesses tremendous physical power and can fight Qin's strongest generals directly. His glaive strikes carry enough force to threaten heavily armored commanders and break through formations.
His experience against the Xiongnu gives him exceptional endurance and battlefield instincts. Li Mu's northern army became famous for destroying a massive Xiongnu force before the Battle of Bayou, and Ma Nan Ci is a product of that hardened military environment.
He is also a capable army commander rather than merely a duelist, directing large cavalry forces during major campaigns.
Story Role
Story Role
Ma Nan Ci plays a major role in Zhao's defense during the Western Zhao invasion. At Shukai Plains, his army forms part of the Zhao right wing opposing Jian Wang's forces.
He clashes repeatedly with Qin commanders and later participates in the desperate fighting around Zhao's headquarters. During the battle he loses an eye but survives, continuing to serve as one of Li Mu's senior generals.
He remains prominent in later campaigns as Zhao reorganizes its forces around Li Mu to resist Qin's continued advance.
