Kyoko Nakagawa

Kyoko is active and willing to practice outside her primary sport. Her requests to play baseball against Aoba show that she is comfortable seeking out a stronger athlete when she wants to improve.

The series gives her comparatively little characterization outside her relationship with Nakanishi and her athletic interests.

Kyoko is a track-and-field athlete rather than a member of Seishuu's baseball club. Her school athletics therefore center on a different competitive discipline from most of the principal cast.

She nevertheless practices baseball informally with Aoba. Those one-on-one games give her an opportunity to improve against one of the school's most skilled baseball players.

Kyoko becomes part of the supporting school cast through Nakanishi. Their relationship gives one of Kou's closest baseball teammates a personal life beyond practices and tournament games.

Her interactions with Aoba also keep Kyoko connected to baseball despite her membership in the track-and-field club.

Daiki Nakanishi is Kyoko's boyfriend. Their relationship develops during high school while Daiki Nakanishi is playing regularly for Seishuu's baseball team.

Aoba Tsukishima is Kyoko's occasional practice opponent. Kyoko asks Aoba Tsukishima for personal baseball matches as a way to improve.
