Kiyoshi Harai

Kiyoshi's childhood is defined by an encounter with demons that leaves him determined to become an exorcist. When he is still a child, the demon Rushihara attacks his family and kills both of his parents. The experience gives Kiyoshi an enduring terror of demons rather than the fearless temperament expected from someone who later becomes famous for exorcising them.

Tenma Sakaki enters Kiyoshi's life during this period and saves him from danger. The rescue becomes one of Kiyoshi's formative memories.
