Kimiko

Kimiko is impulsive and abrasive, particularly during her period of drug dependence. When Sakata Gintoki encounters her during the Harusame investigation, she is desperate for another dose and initially assumes that he is involved with the dealers.

Her later appearance shows a more responsible side. She has stopped using drugs and wants to build a normal life with Tasuke, even though his behavior repeatedly demonstrates that her confidence in him is questionable.

Kimiko can also be remarkably forgiving. Her willingness to continue caring about Tasuke survives treatment that would give her ample reason to abandon him.

Kimiko has no supernatural abilities or established combat training.

Her role is primarily that of a civilian caught in criminal situations. She depends on the Yorozuya when facing the Harusame and later the gang pursuing Tasuke.

She does display considerable physical persistence, including carrying Tasuke away after the confrontation surrounding his stolen drugs.

Kimiko's father discreetly hires the Yorozuya to locate her rather than involving the Shinsengumi. Their investigation leads Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi and Kagura to the Harusame's Tenseikyou operation.

Kimiko is found among the drug users connected to the organization and becomes caught in the conflict when the Harusame discover the investigation.

She later contacts the Yorozuya again after leaving drugs behind. Her boyfriend Tasuke, formerly her dealer, claims that he wants to quit criminal work but is being pursued by his old associates. Tasuke is eventually exposed as having stolen drugs from the gang and abandons Kimiko when offered a choice between surrendering the narcotics or saving her. Kimiko nevertheless takes the unconscious Tasuke away after Gintoki knocks him out.

Tasuke is Kimiko's boyfriend and former drug dealer. He betrays her during the hostage exchange, but she continues caring for him afterward.

Sakata Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi and Kagura rescue Kimiko during the Harusame incident and later answer her request concerning Tasuke.

Kimiko's unnamed father hires the Yorozuya to locate her while attempting to keep her disappearance from becoming a public scandal.
