Kesskass

Kesskass is intimidating, aggressive and willing to kill for money. His appearance and behavior make him an effective bodyguard cover while concealing his actual role as an assassin.

He is also angered when he realizes that the person who hired him considers him expendable. His professional arrangement with Elizabeth contains no genuine loyalty on either side.

Kesskass fights with a specialized suit fitted with large blades. Cutting weapons extend from his fingers and forearms, while additional blades around his legs allow him to attack with much of his body.

His size and equipment make him dangerous in close combat, but he remains an ordinary human rather than a superhuman opponent comparable to the later Gung-Ho Guns.

Vash's reflexes and physical skill allow him to avoid Kesskass's attacks without resorting to lethal force.

Kesskass accompanies Elizabeth to Inepril while she ostensibly repairs the city's malfunctioning Plant. He is introduced as protection for the engineer, but the arrangement conceals the real reason he is present.

Elizabeth hired Kesskass to assassinate Vash as part of her revenge for the destruction of July. When the assassination attempt fails, she traps both Kesskass and Vash inside the Plant chamber, demonstrating that she considers her hired killer expendable as well.

Kesskass's role remains confined to the anime's July-focused storyline, with later appearances limited to flashback material.

Elizabeth employs Kesskass under the guise of using him as her guard. She actually hires him to murder Vash and later abandons him inside the sabotaged Plant chamber when the attempt fails.

Vash the Stampede is Kesskass's assassination target and the opponent he attacks during the Inepril Plant crisis.
