Kekeru Goyu

Goyu is selfish, irresponsible and arrogant. Although responsible for vulnerable patients, he treats his medical duties as an inconvenience whenever they interfere with his desire to play golf.

He abuses the authority attached to his position. Goyu retaliates against Miyuki when she challenges him and uses Shizuka's hospitalization as leverage when Jonouchi threatens to expose what has been happening.

Goyu is also intensely proud of his golfing ability. That confidence makes him willing to accept Yugi's unusual challenge because he assumes a schoolboy cannot possibly defeat him at the game he values most.

Goyu is a licensed medical professional, although his behavior demonstrates serious neglect of those responsibilities. His professional knowledge is secondary to his role in the story because he repeatedly abandons medical work.

He is an enthusiastic and experienced golfer. Dark Yugi builds their Shadow Game around this interest, converting the hospital itself into a course where each participant must reach the nurses' station in as few strokes as possible.

Goyu has no supernatural powers. The supernatural consequences of their confrontation originate from Dark Yugi's Shadow Game and Penalty Game.

Goyu oversees the hospital where Shizuka is receiving treatment. His repeated absences and neglect anger Miyuki, who confronts him over his failure to care properly for patients.

After Miyuki rejects his advances and challenges his conduct, Goyu dismisses her. He later threatens to remove Shizuka from the hospital if Jonouchi exposes him.

Yugi secretly records evidence of Goyu's behavior and challenges him to a golf-based Shadow Game. Dark Yugi defeats him with a carefully planned shot through the hospital's mail chute. When Goyu attempts to attack him afterward, he receives a Penalty Game involving apparitions of patients whose treatment he neglected.

The following day, hospital staff witness Goyu loudly confessing his misconduct while the recording obtained by Yugi exposes what he has done.

Miyuki Sakurai works under Goyu at Yonezato Hospital and repeatedly challenges his neglect. Goyu dismisses Miyuki Sakurai after she rejects his advances and confronts his behavior.

Shizuka Jonouchi is a patient under Goyu's authority. He threatens to have Shizuka Jonouchi removed from the hospital in order to silence her brother.

Katsuya Jonouchi becomes furious after learning how Goyu has treated Miyuki Sakurai and neglected Shizuka Jonouchi.

Yugi Mutou investigates Goyu after seeing the effect his actions have on Katsuya Jonouchi. Dark Yugi defeats Goyu in a golf-based Shadow Game and exposes his misconduct.
