Jamo takes enormous pride in his profession and considers satisfying the people who eat his food a responsibility worth seeing through regardless of circumstances. During the invasion of the Royal Capital, other cooks urge him to evacuate, but he refuses to leave because his main dish is unfinished.

Charmy's enthusiasm immediately resonates with him. Rather than dismissing her obsession with eating, Jamo appreciates someone who takes food as seriously as he takes preparing it.

Jamo possesses Fire Magic, an attribute naturally useful to his work as a chef. He can generate and manipulate flames, although the series does not establish him as a dedicated combat mage or give him an extensive repertoire of battle spells.

His primary expertise is culinary rather than military. The story repeatedly presents him as an exceptionally skilled professional chef whose knowledge of ingredients and preparation is valued at the Magic Knights Headquarters.

Jamo appears during the banquet following the War Merits Conferment Ceremony. When the Royal Capital is attacked, the Magic Knights rush away from the celebration while Jamo remains in the kitchen trying to finish his main course.

Charmy follows the smell of the food and finds Jamo refusing to evacuate. Her determination to taste the completed dish inspires him to continue, and he eventually serves it to her.

When Catherine crashes into the kitchen during the fighting, Charmy defeats the enemy mage. Jamo attributes Charmy's extraordinary strength to the meal she has just eaten.

The anime later expands their culinary connection, with Charmy seeking Jamo's help while trying to improve food that restores and enhances her teammates' mana.

Charmy Pappitson shares Jamo's intense appreciation for food. Her enthusiasm encourages him during the Royal Capital invasion, and the anime later depicts him helping her develop her cooking.

Catherine interrupts Jamo's kitchen during the Royal Capital attack and is promptly defeated by Charmy.
