Ichirou Kishishou

Kishi is energetic, excitable and openly expressive. Unlike many of the more restrained athletes around him, he has little difficulty announcing his interests or pursuing something he wants.

He is a devoted anime fan, and his enthusiasm carries over into his reaction to Chinatsu. After meeting her, he becomes an ardent admirer and repeatedly asks Haryuu for her contact information.

Despite the comedic circumstances surrounding his rivalry with Taiki, Kishi takes badminton seriously enough to compete in the regional tournament and has substantial junior-level experience.

Kishi is an experienced badminton player who trained at KTS Junior and previously partnered Haryuu in doubles. Playing alongside a future Eimei ace indicates that he developed a solid competitive foundation before entering high school.

He represents Shimotomi High in tournament competition and meets Taiki in singles during the regional preliminaries.

His familiarity with Haryuu also gives him insight into a player whose standards and training methods strongly influence Taiki.

Kishi enters the story during Taiki's first high-school regional preliminaries. His past with Haryuu connects him immediately to Eimei's ace, but his attention quickly shifts toward Chinatsu.

Haryuu turns Kishi's repeated requests for Chinatsu's contact information into an incentive for his match against Taiki, telling him he can have it if he defeats his junior.

Taiki defeats Kishi, allowing him to continue through the tournament and preserving the distance between Kishi and the contact information he wanted. Kishi subsequently remains a minor figure connected to Haryuu's earlier badminton career.

Kengo Haryuu is Kishi's former KTS Junior doubles partner. Kishi continues to address him affectionately as "Harry-senpai."

Chinatsu Kano becomes the object of Kishi's enthusiastic admiration after he meets her, prompting his repeated attempts to obtain her contact information.

Taiki Inomata faces Kishi during the regional preliminaries, with Taiki defeating him in singles and advancing through the tournament.
