Ichika Yami

Ichika is stern, blunt, disciplined, and easily irritated by behavior she considers disrespectful. She holds the duties of the Ryuzen Seven seriously and has little patience for excuses or self-pity.

Her loyalty to Ryuya is absolute. Because he helped her during a formative period of her life and serves the Land of the Sun selflessly despite lacking conventional magic, Ichika reacts strongly whenever anyone questions his worth.

She initially treats Asta harshly and considers his admiration for her older brother difficult to understand. Their training relationship remains confrontational, but she gradually acknowledges Asta's determination and capacity for growth.

Ichika uses Dark Magic, manipulating darkness through a scroll rather than a Clover-style grimoire. Her attribute resembles Yami's but is expressed through the martial traditions of the Land of the Sun.

She is an expert ki user and one of the Ryuzen Seven's strongest close-range fighters. Zetten compresses ki and magical power before releasing them in a sudden explosive attack, dramatically multiplying offensive force.

Dark Yojutsu: Black Star creates a concentrated field of darkness that affects surrounding forces and provides the foundation for her Black Warrior form.

Ichika combines this magic with exceptional swordsmanship, physical strength, reaction speed, and the combat experience expected of one of the shogun's seven elite guardians.

Ichika meets Asta after he reaches the Land of the Sun and becomes one of the people responsible for teaching him Zetten. Their difficult training exposes flaws in Asta's existing combat habits and forces him to develop a more precise method of using Anti Magic.

Her history with Yami Sukehiro initially shapes much of her hostility toward him and anyone who praises him.

Ichika believes Yami slaughtered their clan before leaving the Land of the Sun. During the battle against the Paladins and the five-headed dragon, suppressed memories reveal that Ichika herself killed the clan after being forced to ingest a Demon Soul Pill that sent her into a berserk state. Yami had taken responsibility to protect her from the truth.

After learning what happened, Ichika begins reconsidering her hatred of Yami. She later travels to the Clover Kingdom and fights beside him during Judgment Day.

Yami Sukehiro is Ichika's older brother. She spends years believing he massacred their clan, only to discover that he took responsibility for killings she committed while under the influence of a Demon Soul Pill.

Ryuya Ryudo is Ichika's shogun and one of the people she respects most. She serves him as a member of the Ryuzen Seven.

Asta trains under Ichika after arriving in the Land of the Sun. Their relationship begins antagonistically but becomes grounded in mutual respect.

Yosuga Musyogatake, Fujio Tenmanyashiki, Komari Imari, Daizaemon Ooka, Jozou Hanegatsuji, and Ginnojomorifuyu Kezoukaku are Ichika's fellow Ryuzen Seven.

Nacht Faust later fights beside Ichika and Yami against a common enemy.
