Eromes

Eromes presents herself as sweet, innocent and flirtatious, punctuating her behavior with affected catlike gestures. She is adept at identifying what will make someone lower their guard and uses that performance effectively on Shimura Shinpachi.

Beneath the act, she is confident, deceptive and opportunistic. Her romantic attention is calculated rather than naïve, and she remains composed when confronted about her behavior.

She describes herself in grander terms than her crimes warrant, treating ordinary theft as though she were a glamorous phantom thief stealing men's hearts.

Eromes has no established supernatural powers despite being an Amanto.

Her principal skill is deception. She convincingly adopts an innocent persona, encourages romantic attachment and creates situations in which her intended victim willingly follows her.

She is also an experienced pickpocket and thief, specializing in taking wallets and valuables after gaining a man's trust.

Shinpachi encounters Eromes while Katakuriko Matsudaira, who is drunk, appears to be harassing her on a train. Shinpachi intervenes and immediately becomes attracted to her.

Eromes later sends him a cake and meets him for a date. Sakata Gintoki, Kagura and Tae Shimura secretly follow them, suspicious of the rapid development.

Eromes takes Shinpachi to a love hotel and steals his valuables while he is bathing. Her innocent cat-girl persona is exposed as an act used to rob men who become infatuated with her.

Shimura Shinpachi becomes infatuated with Eromes after believing he has rescued her. She exploits his attraction to steal from him.

Katakuriko Matsudaira is the drunken man whose interaction with Eromes prompts Shinpachi to intervene.

Sakata Gintoki, Kagura and Tae Shimura follow Eromes and Shinpachi during their date and become suspicious of her intentions.
