Eisuke Urushibara

Eisuke is generally calm and accommodating. He accepts Okabe's eccentric presence around the shrine and allows Luka considerable freedom in choosing friends.

He takes his religious responsibilities seriously but is not portrayed as possessing supernatural insight. His role as a father and shrine priest keeps him grounded in everyday Akihabara life while extraordinary events unfold around Luka.

Eisuke has no established supernatural abilities. His skills and responsibilities are those of the chief priest managing Yanabayashi Shrine.

His knowledge of the shrine's history becomes useful when Okabe searches for the IBN 5100, since the computer has been stored there without Eisuke understanding its importance to time-travel research.

Eisuke appears when Okabe visits Yanabayashi Shrine and learns that an IBN 5100 is stored there. The discovery brings the shrine directly into the laboratory's investigation of SERN.

He also appears through Luka's family life and the D-Mail experiment involving Luka's mother.

Luka's D-Mail is sent to Eisuke's pager in 1993 with dietary instructions intended for his pregnant wife. The resulting world-line change affects Luka's sex at birth, although the scientific explanation Luka and Okabe originally assume is itself dubious.

Luka Urushibara is Eisuke's child and helps with duties at Yanabayashi Shrine.

Rintarou Okabe frequently visits the shrine because of his friendship with Luka and later because of the IBN 5100 stored there.

Mayuri Shiina is Luka's friend and another familiar visitor connected to the Future Gadget Laboratory.
