Daisaku Amarao

Amarao is passionate about soccer and desperate for his retirement match to end with a memorable goal. The sudden collapse of almost his entire team therefore leaves him horrified.

He is nevertheless willing to play alongside the bizarre collection of replacements assembled by Sakata Gintoki. His determination survives despite the fact that several of them barely understand soccer.

Amarao also deliberately presents his motivation in sentimental terms, encouraging the others to believe he is trying to score for someone personally important to him.

Amarao is a professional footballer and the ace striker of F.C. Oedo. His established specialty is goal scoring.

He is considerably more experienced than the Yorozuya and their friends, who become his emergency teammates despite possessing little understanding of organized soccer.

His retirement match provides his final opportunity to demonstrate his ability as F.C. Oedo's star forward.

Amarao prepares for his final match only to discover that nearly all of F.C. Oedo has collapsed after Kagura accidentally gives the players a contaminated drink. The Yorozuya accept responsibility and recruit replacements.

Gintoki assembles Taizou Hasegawa, Tae Shimura, Ayame Sarutobi, Kotarou Katsura, Elizabeth and Isao Kondou alongside the Yorozuya.

Amarao repeatedly tries to score against the Matsuno Brothers but fails. The supposedly touching story that he wants to score for his "little boy" is ultimately exposed as a crude misunderstanding: his real motivation is impressing a woman, and the phrase refers to his genitals rather than a child.

Sakata Gintoki takes responsibility for replacing Amarao's incapacitated teammates and assembles an emergency squad.

Kagura accidentally causes the crisis by giving F.C. Oedo's players a contaminated drink.

Shimura Shinpachi, Taizou Hasegawa, Tae Shimura, Ayame Sarutobi, Kotarou Katsura, Elizabeth and Isao Kondou become Amarao's makeshift teammates for his retirement match.
