Colonel Violet

Violet is pragmatic, opportunistic, self-interested, and unusually detached from the Red Ribbon Army's ideology. In the manga there is too little material to define her beyond her military role, but the anime portrays her as primarily motivated by money.

She can be ruthless toward her own personnel, abandoning or sacrificing subordinates when doing so improves her chances of completing a mission. At the same time, anime material gives her occasional flashes of compassion, including concern for an injured young monkey.

Violet is also perceptive enough to recognize when the Red Ribbon Army is losing. Unlike officers who remain committed until defeat, she prioritizes her own survival and profit.

Violet is proficient with automatic firearms, grenades, explosives, and military vehicles. Anime and game material emphasize agility and ranged combat rather than extraordinary hand-to-hand strength.

She is an experienced pilot and operates aircraft while conducting Red Ribbon missions. Her field skills allow her to retrieve a Dragon Ball successfully even while other officers repeatedly fail.

No canonical ki techniques are established for her.

In the original manga, Violet appears only briefly when she delivers a Dragon Ball to Commander Red. Kanzenshuu records her manga debut as Chapter 93 and anime debut as Episode 65.

The anime significantly expands her mission. Violet leads personnel through dangerous territory while searching for a Dragon Ball and eventually obtains one for the Red Ribbon Army.

As Goku attacks the army's headquarters and its collapse becomes increasingly likely, Violet chooses not to help defend the base.

Instead, she breaks into the Red Ribbon Army's own vault, steals a large quantity of money, and escapes while Goku destroys the organization.

Her manga fate after delivering the Dragon Ball is not established, so claims that she was killed during the headquarters battle should be avoided.

Commander Red is Violet's commanding officer and receives the Dragon Ball she retrieves.

Staff Officer Black is another senior member of the Red Ribbon Army hierarchy seen at headquarters.

Goku is the enemy whose attack ultimately precipitates the collapse of the organization, prompting Violet in anime material to prioritize stealing the army's money and escaping rather than defending it.
