Chen

Chen is relaxed, proud of his reputation, and somewhat eccentric. Beneath his confidence lies deep regret surrounding a former student who, like Lee, could not properly use ninjutsu or genjutsu.

That experience causes Chen to reject the idea that taijutsu alone can sustain a shinobi career, placing him in direct philosophical conflict with Lee's entire approach to being a ninja.

Chen is one of Konoha's most accomplished taijutsu specialists. His signature Leaf Dragon God creates a powerful vortex through rapid rotational movement, turning his taijutsu into an attack capable of affecting a wide area.

He also uses established Strong Fist techniques such as Leaf Whirlwind, Leaf Great Whirlwind, and Leaf Gust. His skill remains formidable enough that his reincarnated form presents a serious challenge to Allied shinobi.

Chen's reputation attracts Rock Lee, who once seeks him out hoping to learn from a legendary taijutsu master. Chen's past experience with a student who died in war causes him to discourage Lee rather than embrace him.

During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Chen is reincarnated and forced to fight. His confrontation with Lee allows both men to test their opposing beliefs about whether dedication to taijutsu alone can define a shinobi.

Rock Lee reveres Chen as a legendary taijutsu master and seeks his recognition. Azami is Chen's granddaughter and brings him rice balls while he lives in seclusion. Chen's unnamed former student strongly shapes his beliefs after the student's death during the Third Shinobi World War.
