Byard

Byard is impatient, loud, irritable, and casually cruel. His tendency to shout is established immediately when he angrily complains about slow service at a pub, then discusses Eisenwald's secret plans loudly enough for Erza to overhear them.

He is attracted to beautiful women and comments on Erza and Lucy Heartfilia's appearance, but that attraction never interferes with his willingness to kill them.

Byard's loyalty is to Eisenwald's objective rather than its individual members. He is willing to sacrifice even a fellow guildmate if doing so keeps the plan alive.

Byard uses Light Magic. He is shown forming a bright elongated magical mass around his hand while preparing to attack Erza, though she defeats him before the technique's complete offensive properties can be demonstrated.

He also possesses Telekinesis, casually using it to move beer from a waitress's glass toward himself without touching it.

The series does not establish named spells or a larger combat repertoire because his direct fight with Erza ends quickly.

Byard first appears drinking with Kageyama, Rayule, and Karakka. His loud complaints lead Kageyama to announce that he has discovered how to remove Lullaby's seal, and Erza overhears enough to investigate.

He later joins Eisenwald in occupying Kunugi and Oshibana stations. When Fairy Tail arrives, Byard realizes that the woman from the pub was Erza and that his own loud conversation exposed their plan.

Erza swiftly defeats him after Requipping into Heaven's Wheel Armor. She later interrogates Byard concerning Erigor's Wind Wall, but he cannot explain how to remove it.

Byard then orders Karakka to intercept Kageyama. Rather than rescuing him, Karakka's real instruction is to stab Kageyama so that he cannot help Fairy Tail remove the Wind Wall.

Erigor is Byard's guild leader and the mage directing the Lullaby operation.

Kageyama is Byard's fellow Eisenwald member. Byard later orders Karakka to attack him to protect the guild's plan.

Karakka follows Byard's instruction to stop Kageyama from cooperating with Fairy Tail.

Rayule is another Eisenwald member present during the conversation that exposes their scheme.

Erza Scarlet overhears Byard's loud discussion and later defeats and interrogates him.

Lucy Heartfilia faces Eisenwald alongside Erza during the occupation of Oshibana Station.
