Bless Minister

Bless is serious, formal and concerned with maintaining order during official proceedings. He dislikes unnecessary trouble and expects people under investigation to respect the authority of the Bureau.

His personal interests are considerably quieter than his work. Bless enjoys gardening, spends his holidays with his dog and uses part of his salary to eat out with his family. These details present him as a conventional senior civil servant outside the extraordinary cases handled by the Bureau.

He does not receive the extensive characterization given to the Divine Visionaries. Most of his narrative identity comes from his administrative position and involvement in decisions concerning Mash.

Bless possesses two facial magic lines, indicating substantial magical capacity, but the series does not establish a named personal magic or a significant combat repertoire for him.

His meaningful power within the story is primarily institutional. As vice-director of the Bureau of Magic, he participates in proceedings concerning violations of the Magic Realm's laws and occupies a position above ordinary officers.

Because Bless is not given a substantial battle, further combat abilities cannot be established without speculation.

Bless becomes involved when the Bureau of Magic learns that Mash has been attending Easton despite being unable to use magic. The case is unprecedented because the Magic Realm's legal system treats the absence of magic as grounds for removal from society.

He appears as an authority figure responsible for addressing the situation and participates in the official process surrounding Mash. The controversy eventually grows beyond an ordinary disciplinary matter because Easton's leadership, the Divine Visionaries and Innocent Zero all have competing interests in Mash's fate.

Bless consequently represents the bureaucratic side of the Magic Realm's response: while warriors and students determine matters through contests of strength, his position exists within the legal institution deciding how those actions should be treated.

Mash Burnedead becomes the subject of one of the unusual cases handled under Bless's authority because his lack of magic violates the assumptions underlying the Magic Realm's legal system.

Wahlberg Baigan advocates for Mash from his position as headmaster of Easton Magic Academy.

Ryoh Grantz, Orter Mádl, Kaldo Gehenna, Renatus Revol, Agito Tyrone, Tsurara Halestone and Sophina Biblia are Divine Visionaries whose authority intersects with the Bureau proceedings in which Bless participates.
