Personality
Personality
Anatel is friendly toward his companions but extraordinarily proud of himself and his Egyptian heritage. He proclaims the superiority of Egyptian magic and considers himself an exceptional practitioner descended from ancient royalty.
That pride is not limited to himself. Anatel openly praises Khafre and Nakht as outstanding specialists, demonstrating genuine respect for the friends with whom he has trained since childhood.
His confidence also makes him stubborn. Insults to Team Niles' abilities provoke him easily, and he has difficulty accepting defeat when he believes it reflects badly on the magical traditions he represents.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Anatel begins with 3,300 Furyoku and eventually reaches 3,500. He practices Egyptian shamanic magic learned within a tradition shared with Khafre and Nakht.
His Guardian Ghosts are the souls of ten thousand ancient Egyptian laborers associated with pyramid construction. Anatel channels them through his Tutankhamun-style mask, producing a large pyramid-shaped Over Soul.
The technique allows the spirits to manifest collectively rather than as a single combatant. Their sheer number gives Anatel a visually imposing spiritual force, though his personal Furyoku remains far below that of the strongest Shaman Fight contestants.
Story Role
Story Role
Anatel is born into a wealthy Egyptian family whose fortune comes from international trade. He later becomes a high-ranking government official while studying Egyptian magical traditions with Khafre and Nakht.
The three qualify for the Shaman Fight, reach Patch Village and establish Team Niles. Their first official tournament battle brings them against Team X-I.
Lyserg Diethel rapidly demonstrates that Team Niles is outmatched. After Anatel refuses to accept defeat and continues fighting, Iron Maiden Jeanne judges him through Shamash and executes him. His death enrages Khafre and Nakht, who are subsequently executed after refusing to submit.
