Adolf Hitler

Hitler has no substantive dialogue or independent characterization within Fullmetal Alchemist. He appears only briefly and silently, so the franchise does not provide enough material to construct a separate psychological profile without importing historical biography beyond what the work itself depicts.

Within Conqueror of Shamballa, he is presented as an extremist political leader surrounded by supporters and involved in the attempted seizure of power in Munich.

Hitler possesses no alchemical, supernatural or enhanced abilities. He is an ordinary human living on Earth, where Amestrian alchemy cannot normally be performed.

His significance is political rather than physical. He leads the Nazi movement represented in the film's depiction of the Beer Hall Putsch and is surrounded by followers involved in the attempted coup.

He has no speaking role and is not depicted participating in the supernatural conflict surrounding the Gate beyond the broader political environment in which the Thule Society operates.

Hitler is briefly visible in Episode 29 of the 2003 anime among images Edward sees connected with the world beyond the Gate. The appearance foreshadows the later revelation that the Gate connects Amestris with a version of Earth.

Conqueror of Shamballa expands that setting to Munich in 1923. Hitler is shown among Nazi Party supporters and participates in the film's recreation of the Beer Hall Putsch, firing a pistol into the air during the attempted takeover.

The coup fails, paralleling the historical outcome. Near the film's conclusion Hitler is shown wounded and being carried away while other participants are arrested.

Rudolf Hess is another historical Nazi figure appearing in the film's Earth storyline and is involved with the political movement surrounding Hitler.

Karl Haushofer is connected to the Thule Society operating within the same political environment, although the film does not establish a substantial personal relationship between him and Hitler.

Dietlinde Eckhart leads the Thule Society faction pursuing access to Shamballa. Her organization's activities intersect with the extremist politics surrounding the events in Munich.
